We can't wait to meet you.

We are excited that you are considering joining the Ampersand family! We accept students on a rolling admissions process, and admit students throughout the school year. Our application, enrollment, financial aid and tuition payment processes are all completed online. We will not, however, review applications until we have had a chance to meet with parents on our campus. We encourage you to schedule this appointment as soon as possible. You can schedule using the online calendar to the right, or by calling during business hours.

Our Admissions Process

Step 1: Student and parent or guardian tour facility and meet with executive director

Step 2: Application and necessary documentation are submitted online

Step 3: Admissions Committee reviews application packet and additional documentation

Step 4: Additional Admissions Interview is conducted with parents and student, if necessary

Step 5: Admissions decision is sent to parents via email

This process takes approximately two weeks but can be expedited during the school year if necessary to ensure that students are not out of an academic environment for extended periods of time.  If you have any questions about our admissions process, please give us a call.

Tuition, Scholarships & Financial Aid

Ampersand School is committed to providing an education to any student that meets our admission criteria. Any family interested in Ampersand School should apply, regardless of their ability to pay for their students education. We will not turn a family away for inability to pay.

Below are several options for families considering attending Ampersand School, including financial aid, state scholarship and voucher programs, and Expertise Exchange. If none of these options are right for your family, please set a time to speak with us in person so that we can come up with a plan that is right for you.

  • Guidelines
To ensure objectivity, Ampersand uses Tuition Aid Data Service (TADS) to evaluate applications. Using their assessment and the other materials submitted, the Financial Aid Committee determines how much assistance can be offered to a family based on the School’s overall budget. Awards are made to students in good standing based upon the family’s financial need.   Families are encouraged to apply for financial aid as soon as possible, as awards are made on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Applications open for current families before they are available to new students.   New students’ families should complete admissions and financial aid applications concurrently; financial aid applications are considered only after a new student has been accepted.   All families receiving aid must re-apply each year.   In separated or divorced families, both parents or guardians must submit applications.
  • The McKay Scholarships for Students with Disabilities Program, originally created in 1999, provides scholarships for eligible students with disabilities to attend an eligible public or private school of their choice.
Any parent of a public school student with a disability who has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 accommodation plan may receive a McKay Scholarship if the student meets the requirements.
    Ampersand accepts the McKay Scholarship.
  • The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program (FTC) was established in 2001 to provide an income tax credit for corporations that contribute money to nonprofit Scholarship-Funding Organizations (SFOs) that award scholarships to students from families with limited financial resources.
Any parent of a public school student may receive a FTC Scholarship if the student meets the requirements.
  • Ampersand can work with parents to utilize their unique skill sets or specialty degree training to barter for tuition fees. Due to the unique nature of our school, many specialties and skill sets can be useful, including but not limited to website design, graphic design, video or music editing, grant writing, fundraising, event planning, musicians, nutritionist or carpentry.  In return for their work, parents can receive tuition assistance for their student(s). This program is ideal for parents that are currently unemployed, underemployed or looking for ways to contribute to the community in substantive ways.

In order to apply, please complete the application below.  Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis alongside their student’s application for admission.
